Transfer Questions!

Hey guys,

I'm considering transferring to USC because I feel like college is the time to experience something new (which I'm not, I'm going to a state school >.>). So, right now I'm a freshman and have a 3.8 GPA at UT Austin. I went to the USC site and I'm extremely confused about the prereqs! First off, the English Writing. I made 3's on both Language and Lit AP tests, but will those scores satisfy the writing requirements? For the diversity requirement - I took cultural anthropology, would that satisfy the diversity requirement? Lastly, I'm planning on applying to the business school, Marshall, and it says I need to take Macro, Micro, and Business Calculus. I made a 3 on my Macroeconomics AP test, and planning on taking Microeconomics and Regular Calculus next semester (spring 09). Will that work out? Haha, sorry guys, this is really a lot of questions...

One easier question, how is financial aid for transfer kids. Part of the reason I chose USC is because I heard the aid is extremely generous! But does that apply for transfer kids? I read on the transfer student board that transfer decisions are sent as early as May, and as late as July! Wouldn't the aid be gone by then?

Okay, that's enough questions. Thanks guys for your time!

For the APs, I'm not sure. 4 or 5 would've been a "Yeah, I think so" but 3 might be too low. Cultural Anthropology doesn't fit diversity, but the global cultural/traditions one (Cat II).

Again with the 3, I'm not sure. Micro and Regular Calc should work.

And I'm wondering about aid, too.

ahh transferring is such a hassle! I read on the website that my ap test scores don't satisfy the general education requirement. Since I won't be able to take a college writing class until next year, does this mean I won't be able to apply transfer this year? =/

I agree kevin, it's been such a pain finding what courses will transfer (coming from oos 4yr), how my AP's will transfer and whatnot...

Taking the other econ course will work, so will calc. I'm taking a calc now and macro and micro. The english requirement is the worst. I called and asked if my 4's on both english AP exams will work and the counselor said I still had to take it in college. The best thing to do is call them, they are really helpful.
