Hi everyone,

Thanks for clicking on my thread!

Im going to be a sophomore at Boston University this year, but it has always been my dream to become a USC trojan. I had some emotional problems in high school that affected my grades (UW 3.2 --> 3.8 W; SAT 2130; CR + Math 1430) so I didn't even apply to USC because I knew I wasn't going to make it. It's difficult being so far from my family and I just want to go to college in my home state. My experience at BU so far has been fine, but I want it to be great. I'm much more focused now, so I'm doing a lot better. After a lot of confusion, I have decided that I want to transfer to USC Marshall to major in Real estate asset management while doing some East-Asian centric business classes.

Is it possible to go from liberal arts major (Economics) --> Business major? I have already taken Macro/Micro, two semesters of writing, fulfilled my scientific inquiry category III GE, and am working to finish the GE's in the other categories. But I feel like it's late in the game since I am transferring for Junior standing.

USC's general articulation agreement states:
REMINDER TO STUDENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL: You cannot receive equivalence to USC courses for courses taken before high school graduation, but USC departments may waive prerequisites or course requirements based on these courses, on a case-by-case basis. See your USC adviser after you are admitted for further assistance. Courses must be taught on the college campus by college faculty and not used toward high school graduation to earn credit; courses taught in a high school setting, even if they are transcripted by a college or university, do not earn credit at USC.

2.1 I've also completed Calculus 1 at my local community college, but this was during the summer before high school senior year, so I'm not sure this fulfills Marshall's pre-req of Calc 1...or does this statement mean that a course like AP Calc will not fulfill the Calc 1 requirement?

USC Marshall also "strongly encourages the completion of Financial and Managerial Accounting (Accounting 1 & 2), as well as General Education Categories 1, 2, 3, 5." BU does not let anyone take financial/managerial accounting if they are not in the School of Management. That means I would have to take the classes online from one of my local California community colleges simultaneously while I am at university.

3.1 Is it even possible to take online classes in one state while being a full time student in another state? 3.2 Will USC even accept an online accounting class? 3.3 If I cant take the online class, will not having Financial/Managerial significantly decrease my chances? 3.4 Also could someone explain the difference between Accounting 1/Accounting 2 versus Financial/Managerial and how BUAD 280, 281, and 305 work?

I'm having trouble locating my transfer counselor since I'm at another 4 year university. I've looked all over Transfer Student Counselors - USC Undergraduate Admission and its related links, but all I can find is transfer counselors for community colleges.

Thanks for reading this and I appreciate any/all advice!
