just curious around what college gpa would i need to transfer into chapel hill. im also from out of state

Don’t believe out of state makes any difference on transfers–at least it’s what I’ve been told. My son transferred in with a 3.7

There really are no specific requirements. I didn’t get in last year with a 3.93 from NC State. The average admitted GPA was much lower than mine, so i really don’t understand what they look for. I also had a relatively hard schedule

the amount of college credits you have also matters. the more you have the less your high school transcripts matter.

So, if you don’t get in when you want to, just wait another semester and apply again.

As freshmen admissions is not totally concentrated on just your GPA, transfer admissions is similar. I’ve heard of people from community college who got in with 3.7-3.8 and students from top 50 schools such as myself who get in with GPAs from 3.3-4.0. UNC wants to see something more than academics, whether that be leadership you displayed or extracurricular activities that define you as a person. Hope this helps!

it is simply easier to get in as an incoming junior than sophomore.
