Hi all,
For Transfer Student, what else did you got with your acceptance latter ??
When i will get that i how many credits transfer ?
When i will receive fafsa after fill out everything including css profile and other require documents etc. ?
My parents income is around 40K. So, I really need a grants/scholarships. Did Michigan give need base grants/scholarships a lot or they just give loans ?

No, they give out grants and work-study money too. Either way, you may still need to take out private loans since they only cover 80%-90% of the bill. Good luck!

You should’ve gotten a U of M folder that says “CONGRATUATIONS” and an acceptance letter if I recall.
The folder should have a checklist for things such as the enrollment deposit and transcripts.

You’ll get letter with the credits transferred after some time. It should come in a regular envelope with two letters (One explaining and the other is the actual sheet with your classes on it).

I’m not too sure about the FAFSA question. I filled mine out in January and received my first notice online in April. They kept changing the amount of fin aid I would receive until the beginning of the school year.

The amount of aid you get depends. I have a friend who transferred after two years, and since he had a certain number of credits, he received a lot of transfer scholarships. I’m not too sure about your situation though. Are you an international transfer student? (I can’t tell because of the way you type)

Bullmarket: thank you for open my eyes because i was thinking about they cover 100%…thx a lot.

Sprints: letter with the credits transferred, i haven’t receive yet but it will be soon…i hope. Because, my orientation is on 12/15. No, I am not International transfer student. but can i ask you why did you write that “I can’t tell because of the way you type”? thank you for answering my question.

I got my transfer acceptance in February with an acceptance letter and a check list. Didn’t get housing or financial aid info until march-april.

As a transfer student, don’t anticipate anything but need based aid. You might get something else but if you do you’ll be very lucky.

GoBlue, I think the poster could not tell if you were an international student or not because your grammar – specifically your sentence structure and erroneous word choices, word tense selections, and the absence of definite or indefinite articles in places – would suggest that either you’re ■■■■■■■■ us; that English is your second language and you’re using a very poor online translator, or that you’re very careless in your written communications.

In either of the two latter cases, if this is your natural writing style after two years of college, make certain you take full advantage of the Sweetland Writing Center, wherein you will receive tutoring on writing at the UMich College level. Best wishes.

kmccrindle basically summed it up. I’m sorry if it sounded mean!

Can you get onto Wolverine Access yet? You might be able to see your unofficial transcript like umichgirl27. I had a mistake on my unofficial transcript (It said that half my credits didn’t transfer), and I had to email them before my orientation to get it fixed.

umichgirl27 & Sprints: I got email saying that I can see unofficial transcript. Now, I can see how many credit transfer and graduation progress…I was waiting for this thing to come…

Kmccrindle, you got all right except one thing that, I am using a very poor online translator. I never used translator to translate to English. but English is my second language and I am little bit careless to write online (sometime). I am more than happy to hear more about me…like, Is it very poor quality ? and how can i improve that ? thank you for your comment. thank you.

Sprints, YOU DON’T HAVE TO SAY SORRY TO ME…I have to say sorry to everybody if it is wrong. Appreciate that made comment about me. thank you

Emaheevul07: Thank you for your info.

I don’t have command on English language but i am very very good at Math and Physics. So, my question is that, in University of Michigan, I will be success in College of Engineering or not. what % of student like me ?

My English is not bad as you think but it is not good for sure.

Thank you for understanding me.

Thank you so much for your comment in advance.

Do not worry, GoBlue, you will have resources available to you at the University to improve your command of the written language, and I don’t believe engineering has many language-based requirements. When you get here, just make sure you go to the Sweetland Writing Center for help ;)
