Transfer Student. Help me Choose.

Hello, I have been admitted to the following schools:
Drexel University
Illinois Institute of Technology

Drexel is obviously what most people recommend, especially with their coop and their better campus.

Here it is why i am hesitating:

1- Although I am a Mechanical Engineering Major, I plan to go into Aerospace in post-grad, which Drexel does not have. I plan to follow an Aerospace/aeronautics minor as an Undergrad at IIT.
2- I am a Sober non-party Student, I would love some opinion to which one of these two schools would fit me best. Hobbies: Gaming, reading, watching sci-fi and shows of the sort.

Just FYi, I am an International Student.

I am open to suggestions for other Universities that may fit me in your opinion (hoping deadlines are still up).

Congratulations!

You might want to also ask on the College Search & Selection and Engineering Majors forums as your question is mainly about the schools rather than transferring.

Have you visited both schools, including spending time on the weekends there and time in class? If not, do so.

Both schools have good reputations. You can probably do a co-op or two at IIT, even if they have no formal program for it. To do that, all you have to do is find a co-op job, and take a semester off.

On the Drexel side, you can check out to see if they have aerospace courses or something related to fluids and airflow at the school. They must have some in their mechanical engineering department. Countless mechanical engineers work for aerospace companies. Even if you can’t list an aerospace minor on your resume, you can list the aerospace-type courses that you’ve taken on your resume.

More important than the specifics of the programs are your feelings about how comfortable you are at the school, and what you feel the school will provide for you in general.

Even if you’re an international and going to school overseas, it’s worth visiting the schools before investing $50,000, $100,000 or more to pay to attend them.

thank you for your reply Entomom and Boondocks!

You are correct Boondocks, I hadn’t previously looked at the career electives for the Mechanical.Eng MINOR at Drexel. They do have Career electives related to Aerospace.Eng: Aerodynamics, Aircraft Design/performance, Aircraft Flight Dynamics/Control.
Those are quite important courses in an Aerospace.Eng Major, it might not qualify as a Minor, but enough to build experience as you mentioned.

I am Currently at a CC here in the US, both gave me decent scholarships, and both are chalenging academically according to students attending the schools. Everything is just so similar, maybe i should start considering other factors, such as Student body.

I look forward to more advice.
