Transfer student. Help me out!

Hi! I'm currently at a CC wanting to transfer to university for microbiology or biochemistry. I started off my first 2 semesters with a 4.0 and then in between for 3 semesters I had some heavy family issues and had to work multiple jobs to help out. I received 3 F's and 2 C's. This summer, now that everything is all cleared up, i'm retaking the failed classes. I know it looks horrible, and am definitely willing to take full credit for the failure and write about obstacles in my essays.

Anyway, If I make all A's on these three 4 credit classes this summer, and manage to get all A's on my tough 17 credit semester in the fall, is it likely the university would overlook the bad grades after they see my strong upward trend? I'd have a 3.62 without calculating in the F's, and a 3.24 with the F's calculated.

Any feedback or tips would be appreciated! I'm looking into state schools like Oakland University and Michigan State... I'd love to go to University of Michigan but i'm afraid I messed that up.

You should be able to get into Oakland University. Maybe Michigan State and definitely not University of Michigan.

Help me out too.
