I am a transfer student starting Davis in the fall. I have been looking at the 6 transfer student apartments: The Willows, Arlington Farms, Suites at Adobe, The Drake, Lexington and The Arbors. Any thoughts/insights? Pros/cons? Any information is welcome!
thanks

Unfortunately, you do not get to choose which of those apartments you get to be in. You can only choose the number of bedrooms you would like your apartment to have (and thus, how many roommates) as well as whether you want a bedroom to yourself or whether you want to share a bedroom with a roommate.

The Willows, the Suites at Adobe, and Arlington Farms are out in West Davis, and therefore a bit further from campus. The Drake is a mile north of campus. Lexington and The Arbors are in South Davis, close to downtown Davis, and about 10 minutes or so from the Memorial Union.

I’d say don’t live in any of the transfer student apartments. Find someone to live with close to campus and live there. Some suggestions are Russell Park, The Colleges, University Court, Sycamore Lane Apartments, Wake Forest, just to name a few. It would be way cheaper. Or, live in one of the “transfer” apartments without going through UC Davis and it will be literally half to one-third as much.

what about the domes…?
