I am a senior in high school and I am starting community college fall 2016. I have a 106 weighted GPA and a 1940 SAT score, so I am not attending community college due to bad grades but rather for personal reasons (I am not yet prepared to live on my own). I plan to be a biology major and I have a passion for medicine. I would like to transfer to either UT Austin or Texas A&M College Station after I finish my basic courses at CC. I know that UT is the better recognized school, but A&M is very good as well. Which university should I transfer to? I would love to go to UT but I have heard that they rarely accept transfer students and therefore I don’t think I will have a chance. My rank is in the top 15% of my class, so I don’t qualify for automatic admission as a transfer student. I need to know which university I will be transferring to so that I will take the necessary prerequisites for that school. Do you think that I should plan on attending UT or is it very unlikely that I will be accepted? I am pretty sure that A&M will accept me, so I am not too worried about meeting their admission requirements. However, I am leaning towards UT and I want to know if I truly have a chance of admission or not.
