Transfer student, waiting for admission decision

Scooter43, you are waiting for the decision?
have you sent your spring grades to them?
how long have you waited?

I'm still waiting. I called today and they told me they haven't made a decision, and that they cannot guarantee that the decision will be made in July.

They received my spring grades on June 20.

o... Scooter43... we are in the same situation~ hope that both of us can get into USC~

but, I really want to ask why they need to make the decision for such a long time. I sent my spring grades on June 26th...They just tell me that I will have the mail this month...

I'm in the same boat as you two are, scooter and lcm. My college, UCR, didn't send my grades in until maybe 5 days before the June 30th deadline. I mean, they wanted to see my spring quarter grades for a reason, obviously, so they must be showing some interest and I did the best I ever did in my college career during my spring quarter.

It's all good though...I've got an appeal letter pretty much written up completely.

i'm just really anxious because I have no idea what's going on.

As far as I know, admission and financial aid are separate (i.e., your financial aid status implies nothing about your acceptance to the University). This is because your financial status has no bearing on a decision to accept or deny an applicant.

Good luck to you all. Hang in there and be patient. Remember that your negative experiences with the Admissions office or FAO don't compare to the excellent academic and social experiences opportunities that may await you at USC.

For all of those who want to find out their decisions over phone, just call them and say that you are out of town for sometime.. My school sent my spring grades around May 28 or so.. They made a decision on my app on June 30 and sent it by mail, but I am outta town so couldn't check my mail.. I got it over the phone when I called on the 11th July..

When do they send the financial aid letters? My file seems to be complete..

All the best to everyone who is waiting for a decision..

If admission asks people to send their spring grades, is it means that they have chances to get in? It seems that people who are asked to send the spring grades will get in finally.

this morning, I called the admission again. They tell me that I will know the final decision in the end of this month. Since they received my spring grades on July 6th... o... I have ordered 2 transcripts. I ordered a rush mail to the office manage and the other one for the admission. my school sent my transcript on 26th... o.... need to wait for a long time.... depressed...

I just talked to USC over the phone and they said they were still waiting for my spring quarter grades. Seems like my school messed up and never sent them out. So I faxed them a copy of it, and now the REAL waiting game begins. I'm probably not gonna hear until late august.

YES!! I got that packet in the mail today!!!!!! The wait is finally over!!

I got my admit packet today also. I was really surprised since I got a D in calculus during spring. I sent my transcripts on May 27 and my admissions letter was dated July 14. Hope you guys waiting hear from them soon.

ericx: what was your overall transferable GPA?

I had a 3.8 before spring and it dropped to a 3.6 with the D after spring. I'm currently retaking the course at summer school and had a teacher write me a recommendation. I'm a business admin major so calculus is very important but I guess retaking the course and the recommendation letter worked.

And oh btw I sent my transcripts in on June 27 not May 27 so it took about two weeks for the decision.

Ericx: Cool. Thanks for the info. And Congratulations.

Yeah thanks for the info ericx. Hopefully I'll hear from them sometime before mid-August. Until then, I'm going to keep calling them and asking them what my admission status is. But hey, congrats, looks like that D in calc. didn't pull you back at all. ;)

hey did you guys fax ur spring grades? I faxed them over twice and called to make sure they got it. if you mail them, it will take much longer. When you fax them, they can immediately put it in your file and sent to the review dept. For comparison, i received my admissions decision exactly 2 weeks after i faxed over my spring grades. I cannot imagine why it would take over a month for a decision. Dont be alrmed tho, because i think USC has horrible customer service

I faxed my spring grades to admissions on June 20. They put them in my file that day. And... I'm still waiting for a decision after 4 weeks. Grrr...

scooter...call them and find out what the deal is.

USC has the worst customer service. I received my notice of admission as a freshman about two weeks after the April 1st deadline. Also, I am waiting for my Spring Admit packet. It was supposed to be in my hands by the end of July. I keep calling and they keep saying they are sending it out. I really cannot understand it, but I am very petulant. I receive more mail from schools that I rejected asking why I rejected them than I do from USC about my admission. Also, it is nearly impossible to reach my adimssion director and the toll free number is ALWAYS so busy and they never get anything done anyway.

I've been calling every few days, and went down to admissions this past Wednesday. No one from that office will tell me anything more than, "Your file is complete; no decision has been made." They won't give me a timetable as to when a decision might be made, and have recently told me that they cannot guarantee a decision will even be made by the end of July.

Is anyone else in the same boat as I am? Has it been nearly four weeks since your spring grades were placed in your file and you're still waiting for a decision?! I wonder if this is common or if I am just being uniquely screwed with.
