Transfer student, waiting for admission decision

They're giving me the same message. My (hopeful) reasoning is this: the people who were flat out not getting in have already received their decisions (probably a rejection). Now, the admissions people are probably just figuring out if they can get everyone in. A friend of mine heard that they sent rejection letters out June 30. I haven't received anything. I am not sure how accurate that rumor was.

Fight On!

Obviously, they like something about you if they're keeping your application open for so long because they haven't rejected you yet. Keep your head high...I'm sure you'll get in sooner or later.

Of course, on the other hand, if we were definitely getting in then they just would have accepted us already. But I think that FresnoTrojan and therevenge make very good and positive points that make me feel a little better.

Whatever happens I still think that SC's admission process is basically unfair. Making us wait this long without telling us what is going on, forcing us to guess, is a unique and inappropriate form of torture; this is especially true since most, if not all, of us have already sent deposits to other schools so that we have another option in the event USC rejects us.

I just called them today and they said my application was just completed (since I faxed my spring grades late) so they said they won't have an answer for a few weeks.

I called the admission and they said my application is completed. They will make the decision shortly. How many day do I need to wait? They have received my spring grades on July 6th.

I would say sometime this week, with any hope. they told me it would take about two weeks, so i'd imagine the same thing for you. but then again, its the default thing they're saying to everyone. it could be longer.

I just received an email from USC about 5 minutes ago saying that I have been invited to the upcoming transfer orientation, and I need to send in my $300 deposit if I would like to attend. The thing is, I still have not received an acceptance or rejection letter from them regarding my admission. Is the orientation for accepted students only? Can I take it that I have been accepted? I faxed in my spring grades on Monday, and when I called yesterday they said that they had recieved them and that my application was complete, but that a desicion will be made within the next couple of weeks.
Thanks,
Kyle

you can only attend orientation if you got in, and the 300 is to ensure your spot at usc.
it soudns like you got in....but double check to make sure.

Well I called yesterday and they verified that I was accepted and my letter was sent out on Tuesday. I am so excited! I have been planning on going to Cal Poly, but now I have no idea what to do. I think I will wait until I hear about my financial aid to decide where I will go. Does anyone know when I can expect to hear about financial aid?
Thanks for everyone's help,
kyle

Thanks God. I am in~ ^ ^
USC accepts me in Spring 2006~

What are your stats?

Transferring as soph or junior?

Thanks.

Cowboy

my GPA is not high....
I don't know I transferr as soph or junior...
I will pick up the mail tomorrow~

Congratulations.
Please let us know if they accept you as a soph or jr.
Your transfer college GPA would also be helpful.
Where are you transferring from?

I am from SMC~

Congratulations lovegod! It feels awesome doesn't it! I have a quick question for everyone who has been admitted so far. Does anyone know when I should expect to find out about financial aid. I was accepted on tuesday, and my financial award will weigh heavyt on my desicion whether to go or not. I thought I read somewhere that some people heard around 5 days after they were admitted, is this true?
Thanks again, and good luck to everyone still waiting!
Kyle

my financial aid info. was posted 3-4 days after I was accepted. Unfortunately, i got ZERO aid :'(

Wow, only took 3-4 days? That is nice. Sorry to here you got zero, that sucks. If you don't mind sharing, can I ask you what your efc is/was? Hopefully I will get something, but even if I don't I am still really leaning towards USC. Now I just gotta find out some housing options. Does anyone know if all of the transfer housing is taken up, or if anyone needs a roomate?
Thanks again,
Kyle

Well since i got ZERO aid, im guessing my efc was the full cost of tuition, etc. So my efc was $44,xxx. My family is not rich either. I would say we are upper middle class.

So it took like 3 days for USC to make a decision with me, and thank god it was a good one (i got in). Thank God I don't have to go back to UC Riverside ever again. I hate that place.

Congrats. Going to orientation on Aug 16 right? See you there.
