Hey fellow users, I am having a bit of an existential crisis. In the fall of 2013, I began my freshman year at a four year school as an engineering student. During that time I was commuting to campus about 2-2.5 hours a day plus working ~20 hours a week to pay my tuition while taking 18 credits. Consequently, I ended my freshman year with a 2.6 GPA (horrible I know). The following year I decided engineering was not for me and ended up declaring as a Math/Econ major. Although I finishes sophomore year with a 3.4 GPA, my cumulative GPA stands as a 3.0, which is not very good. Currently, I am taking a gap in hopes of transferring out of my school. During my time at school, I had a small amount of ECs - a club sport and a student government for commuters - and a low GPA. Furthermore, I want to transfer to NYU, which is a bit more selective than my current school, but I am not sure what can help my chances. Would it be a good idea to re-take the SAT and score a 2000+ (my HS score was ~1800) or should I not bother and focus on resume builders such as volunteering? Also I want to go into business school in the future so could taking the GMAT help my undergrad apps while also double for my graduate school applications in the future?
Basically I just need a crap ton of advice so please comment below.
Thanks!
