Transfer Student Worried About Getting In

I'm a transfer student from Winona & also Century. I will have completed about 60 credits after this semester with about a 3.3 GPA. I'm a white male and I don't have very significant volunteer work but participate in a lot of ECA's/hobbys. I applied to the CLA and am anxious to hear back because if I get in here its a done deal, if not I'm going to duluth and will need to arrange housing there, trying to do so w/ friends but the sign up for that is coming up soon. Do you guys think I will get in here? Thanks.

Just so you have a solid backup plan, why don’t you pay the housing fee to hold a room at UMD. Last year it was a very small fee (like $25) and worth the risk in order to have peace of mind.

Thats a good idea, I didn’t know it was that cheap! Winona took $200 from me to hold my spot in the apartments I signed up for.

Edit: Just checked and I would have to forfeit $50, not too bad still. Thanks for the tip.

Not sure why you’re writing yourself off so quickly as far as getting in. You need a 3.0 to be competitive for transferring and you have over that. I’m pretty sure you have a pretty solid chance. I read an article in the MN Daily a few months ago about them starting to limit the number of transfer students, but I still think you have nothing to worry about.

I got in, thanks :)

Congratulations, Bford. :)

Yeah for bford10!!!

I’m considering about transferring to the U of M also. Bford10, what kind of financial aid does the U of M offer for transfer students?

I’ll be honest I don’t really have a clue, my dad is the one who looked at that :/
