<p>I have a few questions regarding transferring to UCSB from a community college ( Pcc ).
Major In Econ/Accounting
I am currently taking 16 units In My 1st Yr Of College Three transfer classes Art 9 Music 25 Spanish42A and two other classes one English class that was recommended for me based on my placement, but is not transferable and a Math class based on my placement ( Math131 Not transferable) which is the math before College Math which is transferable. I was wondering should i take two transferable classes during winter or the next level math which is accredited and a English class before English 1a to get rid of the prerequisite. If i choose the 1st option i would have 17 units by spring and then i would only take 14 units which would give me 31 so by my 2nd year i could file my tag ( transfer admission guarantee ) or could i file my tag during the winter of my 2nd year?
The real question when's the best time to file my tag?</p>
<p>I believe UC’s only take TAG applications in the fall for the following fall. So you cannot file a TAG application next spring. Just keep working towards getting your required classes dine, then submit a TAG application next fall,2012, for admission in fall of 2013. On your application you list the classes you are currently taking and the classes planned for the spring. So you would do all this next fall.</p>
<p>If you intend to apply to the UCs in November of 2012, then you will apply for TAG in September of 2012 and that means you need at least 30 units by the end of Summer term in 2012. To be competitive for general admission (and also part of the TAG requirement for many UCs), you will need to complete the UC English and Math requirements by the end of Summer term in 2012. Plan your schedule accordingly.</p>
