i got to Fairleigh Dickinson University maintaining a 4.0 as a freshman, 31 credits altogether
the problem is my high school stats are horrible...2.8 GPA, and SATS were horrible

I don't think that your blemished high school record would make you any less competitive than anyone else. Clearly, your current college success is an indicator of how well you'd do at NYU (right, guys!?). You've shown that not only can you do college level work, but that you do d@mn good at it.

You don't have to worry about your less than stellar SAT scores at least. They do not take that into consideration if you are a transfer applicant with a year of school under your belt.

Of course, NYU will take a holistic look at you. You still have to have a strong activities resume and strong written components of your application.
