Transfer suggestions

Hey,
I'm currently a freshman NYU GSP to tisch (film) transfer and I'm starting to think that this really might now be the place for me. If I transferred I probably wouldn't transfer till the middle or end of sophomore year but I figured I might as a well post now. STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS AND DOUBLE MAJORING OPPORTUNITIES (I love too much) ARE IMPORTANT!

Why Transfer?
I don't go to college, I go to NYU. I don't have a campus, I am severely lacking in athletics (which I thought I wouldn't miss), and I feel like I just live in NYC and happen to take classes. Basically I'm looking for somewhere with more of a college experience. I love the city but I'm sure I'd be happy in another city or somewhere very close to a city. I wouldn't be happy in, say, the middle of nowhere.

Scenario 1:
I still want to be a film major but am interested in other things. I'm thinking of transferring to:
USC
UCLA
Northwestern
Texas

Scenario 2:
Just interested in communications
Northwestern
UVA
UNC
USC

Scenario 3: Forget film what was I thinking? I want to major in (pre-med, pre-busi, philo, politics, languages)
Same places as before
Brown
Maybe some LACS?

This isn't a chances thread but I just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas in the three categories.

I'm was good hs student and a great hs. Even better college student.
Very involved in HS and college
have held down some sort of job for 25 hours a week both semesters.

Thanks a bunch.

I'm not sure UVa even has communications and I don't think UNC is big in that either. Otherwise you have some good selections.

Hello elvenqueen10...Here is what i think..
UT austin:big in sports, austin is a very nice city, it has all oe could ask for, very good in film(the tv,radio, film dep. is top notch), very good buss. program.
USC:Los angeles, also very good buss.,Film?no need to say anything.
University of miami:very good commu. program(similar to UT austin), good buss. , if you like florida then i think it would be perfect for you.
Northwestern:I think it doesn't have buss. or it's anew program..

If you're sticking it out through sophmore year I'd stick it out and go to Tish. You'll have such great opportunities.

thanks to all. your advice was helpful and at this point is all underconsideration. I'm home for the weekend and talked to my mom and dad about this. My mom (as per usual) was more supportive than my dad.

Any other opinions esp. for scenario three let me know.

I completely understand. I never really have undersood the allure of NYU unless you absolutely must have NYU. I would seriously consider Vassar, Wesleyan, Brown, and Northwestern.

haha. I think Vassar would be interesting.... my friend goes there and loves it but I don't know if its the place for me. My problem with wesleyan in the past was that it was too close to home but at this point... I may not care.
