Transfer to CSU from CCC

Hello, my goal is to transfer to SJSU from a CCC. My problem is that I'm coming back to CC because I dropped out from UC Davis and was academically dismissed. I was initially admitted into UCD as a transfer student and all of my units were completed at CC.

Is it possible that my academic standing at Davis will hinder my chances of getting into SJSU even though all of my units were completed at a CCC? Should I even mention on my application that I even attended Davis for a quarter? Would the find out if I failed to do so?

You need to list ALL previous colleges. Realize there is a national clearing house for colleges to use to check–this takes all of 2 minutes in this day of computers.

You should still be seen as a CCC transfer student because you have more CCC credits than 4year credits. However, your UCD grades MUST be included into your GPA calculations when you submit your estimated GPA on CSU applications. Note, if you get accepted you must send ALL transcripts (and they can check), and your estimated GPA better match the transcripts that get sent in.

CSU transfers is gpa and location driven. Local transfers (based on the CCC where you got the majority of your credits) are given first priority based on gpa. Once that is filled, then non-local in-state transfers are given preference based on gpa. That’s it–no LORs, no essays, no ECs.

SJSU is fairly competitive–so what is your total gpa with the UCD factored in? Other than the hit to your gpa, I don’t think the UCD problems should factor in.

I had a 3.8 semester units from my CC and 0.0 gpa from 12 quarter units from UCD. Are semester and quarter units equally weighted when it comes to calculating GPA?
