Pretty much. It’s a straight forward as that. No essay required. Not sure if they consider any outside info i.e. project you did for microsoft or something.

You can submit letters of recommendation and I would advise this.

I’d imagine Poly State would be better for engineering.

I used to live fairly close to Statesboro and so I joint-enrolled at Georgia Southern my senior year. Of the twenty or so people in my Physics II class, half transferred to Georgia Tech. Only two of those ten went back to Georgia Southern, either voluntarily or because they were forced to. One of the ten has already graduated not only with his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering but also his Master’s, and another will graduate with me this semester and is headed to Duke for a Master’s in Civil Engineering. As for the other five, I know at least one graduated last semester, and as far as I know, the remaining four are doing well.

Provided that you stay focused at Georgia Southern, I think the school has a good track record of sending students to Georgia Tech who successfully graduate.

That sounds good fabrizio, that was some good insight. I will probably go there. The only thing that was kinda stopping me was that I lived pretty far away from Statesboro (I live in Atlanta). Soon I will tell them I am going to enroll. I am thinking about next week.

I know this thread is old. But I’m in the same situation.

I’ve already been accepted to Georgia Southern, and I’ll probably apply to Southern Poly after visiting the campus.

My original plan was to do the RETP program and major in Computer Engineering and automatically transfer to GA Tech. But that’s only for engineering and now I’m leaning towards majoring in Computer Science.

So if I decide to do Computer Science at Georgia Southern, all I have to do is keep up my grades to transfer to GA Tech and that’s it?

Yes, and have 30 hours by the document deadline. They don’t really care about the same things as their freshmen applications because the transfer stats aren’t that important when looking at the quality of colleges and transfer students typically do well at gatech as pointed out by fabrizio.
