i'm currently in my freshman year in an I I T (the I I T was very recently established ,major : electrical engineering)

i would like to apply as a transfer student to the top engineering colleges in the states ,for a major in electrical engineering or computer science, i'm writing the SATs I and II this yr(in oct and dec) ,what kind of scores do i need ? and what are my chances at MIT/Stanford/Ivies etc and pls suggest other colleges worth applying

generally transfers don’t get great financial aid offers and many universities are not need blind.

You should broaden your search. MIT and Stanford have very few opening for transfers. Northwestern, Tufts, Boston University, Rice, maybe Northeastern. (Northeastern’s electrical engineering program is rated higher than tufts)

Unlike the admissions process in India, American schools (especially private institutions like MIT and Stanford) heavily emphasize extra curricular activities. First, have a nearly perfect SAT score for them to even consider your application. Then, they’ll admit you based on the strength of your professor recommendations and extra curricular activities.

They keep an eye out for recommendations that state you’re been one of the best students ever, and for extra curriculars that demonstrate dedication, passion, and leadership.

Keep in mind Stanford selects around 20 students every year out of thousands of applications. You’re also disadvantaged because you are an international applicant.
