Transfer to NCSU

<p>My boyfriend is currently a freshman (Computer Science major) and was looking to transfer to NCSU. He said he applied with a 3.1 GPA back I believe in late January-early February and hasn't heard back yet. When should he expect to hear back? I also saw in another fourm that NCSU makes transfer students apply directly into their major, and that sounds questionable to me especially if my boyfriend will only be a sophomore next semester. Is that true? If so would it make it harder to transfer considering his major?</p>

You will find a list of majors by college on the Registrar’s website. Transfer applicants may not request First Year College or undeclared majors within a college. Transfer applicants should select only those majors in which they have a strong interest. Transfer students may not change their curriculum during their first year at NC State University and can take only courses that satisfy the University’s Progress Towards Degree requirement for that curriculum. Students who are accepted in one degree program who later want to change majors are subject to on-campus transfer requirements, which are no less rigorous than the off-campus transfer requirements.
