I am in my second semester at Florida State University and would be content with transferring to Northeastern for either Spring 2011 or Fall 2011.

I currently have a 3.64 GPA.
My college extracurriculars include being in a fraternity, being on the lacrosse team, and a part of college republicans.
My major is accounting and my minor is Italian.

I come from a small town which had a great public high school.
My GPA was about a 3.49.
ACT w/ writing was a 30.
I played on the lacrosse team and ran cross country in high school.
I was a part of the Hispanic Honors Society, chess club, and Relay for Life my junior and senior years.
I took part in the production of "The Nutcracker" and assisted with cotillion classes since about seventh grade.

Chances for either of those semesters would be greatly appreciated!

Also, would the five-year program still apply to me? Thanks!

As a college republican, are you sure you want to move to Boston? J/K

My son just began his Freshman year at NEU. Your chances look good to me. If you did two co-ops, it seems you will still be a five year plan.

Have you contacted NEU and talked with them? My son found their admissions office to be very helpful. May I ask why you are looking to transfer?

Thanks!

Yes I have contacted NEU a couple times and talked to them but I had forgot to ask some questions and before calling them again I decided to just post on here first. They are very helpful there.

I am looking to transfer because when I had originally looked at schools I had thought that I was torn between staying in-state and going to the northeast, even though I had always envisioned going up north for college. Also, lacrosse played a big deal in my decision making process. I had originally looked at NEU when applying and didn’t like the 5-year program because I didn’t have every summer off like my friends would have. But that was just immaturity. Now I do actually really like the idea of the 5-year program with co-op.

That sounds like a solid reason for transferring. I wish you the best of luck.
