I'm just trying to get an idea of transfers (preferably going in as sophomores or juniors) that were accepted to NEU and what their stats were. Any input is appreciated.

transfering fall 2010. 2 year at a jc, around 3.6ish

By JC I’m guessing you mean junior college? If so, that’s great since I’m attending CC with about a 3.7, going for my associates. Hopefully you have a good first semester.

HS was not so great

3.2 UW 3.4 W
26 ACT
not many ec’s

COLLEGE

3.7 GPA
many ec’s-no leadership roles

accepted to CBA

Ya I went to a junior college. My hs grades were a joke to say the least. You look like your in good shape as long as you write a good essay. I’ve had a friendf get denied with a 3.9 and one accepted with a 3.0 so its pretty inconsistent

i transferred in fall 2009. college gpa 3.3, high school stats were good minus my sat scores but they did not count. I also did a research paper related to my major so i guess that helped.

Wow! A 3.9 and he was rejected? Did he apply to engineering, pharmacy or anything else a little more focused? I’m applying to Arts and Sciences, if that means anything.

I feel like it was business but I’m not sure. I got into CAS with by GPA and a good essay. No Ecs or anything. I’m sure you’ll be fine

Any tips on the essay? I’d like to major in history (public history concentration), so maybe I could talk about how the opportunities to intern/co-op at the museums within the city are spectacular.

Ya just about how neu is the best fit for you. How the city is rich with history and culture , and you’ll benefit from being there more than any other school.

transferring in Fall 2010. 2 years of cc. college gpa 3.24 criminal justice major.

I’m only going to have 37/60 credits at the time of application. Did you have all of your credits at the time?

Fall 2010 - Music Industry Major

Junior College GPA: 3.65
HS: 3.3
SAT: 1600/2400 (lol)

Your HS GPA was a lot better than mine. My SAT score was a 1740. I don’t have to send either of them, though. Did you?

No you don’t have to send SAT scores or high school transcripts if you have more than 24 units, so you’re fine. I have about 60 units, and am going in as a third year. Having less than 60 units will probably increase you’re chance of being accepted because honestly, the less units you enter in with means the more classes you’ll take at NU, which is more money for them.

Is anyone’s application taking forever to be fully compeleted? I sent in my materials roughly April 12 and they’re still missing three things. I called them friday and they said that I should wait a little longer. I don’t want to waste $70 on an app fee if I don’t know if they have everything or not, yet I don’t want to forfeit my application either. Any thoughts?

I think if you really have a strong interest there, you should just pay the app fee. If not, then wait until the confirmation, I suppose.
