I want to transfer to Rutgers for fall 2014. I am currently in my first semester at William Paterson University. I think the deadline to apply for fall 2014 is february, should i apply now or wait to apply for spring 2015. I honestly want to transfer out as soon as possible. I dont like it here at all. My first semester so far is ok. My major is biology and im currently taking general bio 1, but the problem is that im not doing well in it. All my other classes are fine, Im getting A's and high B's. I think I'll probably have like a 3.5 or 3.4 by the end of this semester. My high school grades were bad, I got really sick during my junior year which led to depression and so.. and i could not focus at all. But i got around by the end of junior year. I went to bergen community college and took Anatomy 1 and 2 during the summer between junior and senior year. I got an A and a B. I also did 200+ of volunteer service at a doctors office. im currently applying to volunteer at a hospital. During my senior year i also took an emt class at passaic community college, it was a pass or fail class, but for some reason on my senior transcript it said 89. idk whats that about. But overall my gpa for high school was 2.8. i know horrible and my sat's were 1300. Should i apply or wait? I'll go either to newark or new brunswick( hopefully), wherever im accepted. (if accepted)

Hello, thanks for your interest in Rutgers! As a transfer student, the focus of our decision will be your college record. If you are not happy at your current school, you may want to consider transferring to a NJ community college for spring 2014. We have articulation agreements with all 19 community colleges in NJ. For more information, visit [NJ TRANSFER: Linking New Jersey’s Colleges and Universities](http://www.njtransfer.org). Either way, make sure you take a strong academic program of at least 12 credits in the spring. Our application due date for fall transfers is February 1.

Hello,
I am in a similar situation. I am currently a freshman finishing up my first semester at Seton hall university and want to transfer to Rutgers NB SAS for the fall of 2014. I applied to Rutgers out of high school with a 2.8 gpa and a 1690 sat an did not get in. I will be finishing up this semester with a 3.2-3.3 gpa as a undecided major but will be declaring a history major shortly. I was wondering what my chances are for getting into Rutgers NB and if there is anything I can do to improve my chances. I will be returning to Seton Hall for the spring semester. In other news, I am a volunteer EMT with so many volunteer hours I cannot count how many I have, and will finish my first year with 31 credits, only 27 of those will probably be transferable though, as 4 of them are for a mandatory freshman studies classes. Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

I’m transferring to Rutgers for the fall of 2014. I currently attend SUNY Albany as a freshman and have a 3.67 GPA for my first semester. I will have finished 30 credits by the end of the year. I’m the founder and president of a club here, and I’m involved in other clubs as well. What do you think my chances are specifically for NB SAS, Newark college of Arts and Sciences, and Camden college of arts and sciences?

Hello
I am a transfer student from an out of state community college who got accepted to Rutgers as a transfer student for this coming Fall 2014 semester. Yes the deadline was February 1st but I think they are still taking applications. All they needed was my high school transcript (I had somewhere around an 2.7 or 2.8 GPA also in High School). I had a 3.75 GPA at my community college and I got accepted. I say go for it because your grades sound great and I think you’ll get accepted. I’ve been out of school for a good year (the last final I remember taking a final was in December 2012), Due to my own personal hardships I had to work then I decided to apply to Rutgers. With that said - don’t get discouraged, you sound like a good student. Apply and maybe I’ll see you around! (btw I have a friend who goes to William Patterson). I signed up for College Confidential to especially respond to your post.
