I am a CC student, and I will apply for UCB transfer on Nov. But I can not decide my major. My GPA is 3.93 right now, and can be up to 3.5 by the end of this semester if possible. I am hesitating statistics and applied math and computer science.

My first choice is stat. Does anyone know something about the GPA that can transfer to this major? or any other information about that.

Many of my friends want to apply applied math and most of them are in 4.0 of their GPA. So I think I will be rejected if I apply this major....

Thanks a lot....

You will not be rejected for your GPA. To my knowledge, statistics is not an impacted major. Apply to your first choice if you will have all of the pre-reqs done for it.

Yeah…Since it is not a impacted major, I am also afraid that only 4.0 students can be registered…

and one more thing, I got B in my english…

I’m not sure what you mean by “I am also afraid that only 4.0 students can be registered…”

What do you mean when you say you have a 3.93 now and it can “if possible” be “up” to a 3.5 this semester? Your GPA is extremely high, as long as you don’t seem like a total arrogant ****** in your personal statement I would say you are basically in.

There is not much of a difference between a 3.93 and a 4.0. What would be much more important is your completion of prereqs and how well you do in them. It will not look well if you are applying as a math major and you’ve only completed up to Calc 1, for example.

I mean that if I get A in all subjects this fall semester, my GPA can be 3.95.

I have a question, is IGETC prereqs???

Thanks~~~

No, IGETC is the general education requirements for UCs. Pre-requisite classes are your major prep classes on assist.org that you have to take for your major.
