Transfer to UCI Biz with 3.88 GPA, help me!

My current GPA is 3.92, but I have to think about every possible outcomes
after this semester. Below 3.88 is very unlikely to happen, based on the current grades
and style of the professors. But one class can still hurt me, still no below b.

So let's say I have 3.88 GPA after this fall. With all pre-reqs done (I don't know
if this would help me or not), would I have a chance with UCI Biz admin?

Go for UCLA/UCB and UCI’s biz admin. Might as well.

I say you go to to UCB/UCLA if you get in.

^ you forgot USC.

what are your EC’s like?

Not everyone like to be a Trojan lol. Just sayin’

@OP: Your GPA looks solid for Biz Admin. The counselor on College Week Live said last Thursday that average GPA admitted to Biz Admin at UCI is 3.75, so you have a good chance. ECs are not important but it may help if you have some - and also, write a good personal statement.
Why don’t you go for UCLA’s BizEcon as well?

Thank you everyone
I thought UCI Biz admn avg gpa was around 3.9. Its good to know that I’m above avg so far.

I’m not really thinking about UCLA because they don’t offer a biz major, and if I have to live in LA, I would rather go to USC. I just think USC has better biz program

and ucla avg gpa was well above 3.9.

anyways… thank you everyone!

Isn’t BizEcon also a biz major…? But you may be right, Marshall is kind of better than LA in terms of reputation. Just my 2 cents.

^ as you can see, he likes to be a Trojan xD.
Business admin USC > UCLA Business Econ

BUT

USC COST $$$$

UCLA COST $$
If you are out of state or international student, just go for USC. You have to pay more fees than in state student anyway. Why not stop for a second and think for a best choice?

You are right Ferrari4XD. I’m definitely thinking about all possible outcomes (I’m applying to LA, B, and SD).

It’s just that I really like Irvine, and at the same time I don’t like LA. And thing is, even if I want to go to LA or B, if I get 3.88 GPA, that far below the average GPA.

Some people might think that it’s foolish to choose UCI over UCLA and UCB…haha
I don’t like UCI, but I just like Irvine.
(and since I live in OC, save $$)

I transferred into the Business Admin program last year from a cc. During the orientation, I heard that the transfer GPA was 3.96 for the entering class. There were only 15 juniors accepted from what I heard including change of majors already at UCI. I had about a 3.89 and got in. You should be fine, just keep working hard to maintain those grades.

Sorry to be off topic but can I get a quick breakdown on how USC > UCLA in the reputation department?

I’m in LA and I’ve asked my business professors(from NY and Chicago) and they both told me UCLA is much more well known nationally than USC. USC has a great regional presence(as does UCLA), but UCLA’s reputation nationally is really good. But of course this is just what I’ve been told. Interested in your opinions on this.

It doesn’t matter where you go, it’s who you know. It’s easier to meet the right people at UCLA, USC, and UCB but if you work for it, you can get somewhere from anywhere.

Is 3.75 the average GPA of the major/core classes at junior college to be accepted into UCI Biz Admin major? or Is is an overall GPA?

Old thread, but the average GPA is your UC GPA (any UC transferable course you have taken is calculated into the GPA).
