What are my chances of transfer to Texas A&M and UT Austin in Fall 2012. My essays are average and not very strong. I have a part time job and therefore not alot of extra activities. If these universities are not in my range what other engineering college should I apply for electrical engineering in Texas.

As a parent going through this situation with my child at this time, I have no inside information. It looks like you have been trying to complete some of the Texas “Core” classes which will all transfer except for English. Assuming you do as well this semester as you have done, your GPA will be about 3.7. My daughter was told unofficially by an admittance counselor that he would “encourage” her to apply since she had a 3.7gpa. He also said that acceptance was a matter of space available and the competition. If you get the chance, you should really repeat English and prove that the D as a fluke.

I can going to repeat English 1 in Fall 2012, but I will have English 2 completed with at least a B in this semester. Would this help in any way for my fall 2012 admissions.

With those Calc, Chem, an University Physics classes, it look like you’re majoring in engineering? I know TAMU won’t accept SPCH; they accept ENG 2311 (Technical Writing)

Also, sorry to say, but deadline for TAMU transfer was March 15.
