Transfer to Wharton?

Hey guys,
I want to transfer to Wharton. I'm currently a freshman at Stern, and I was wondering what kind of stats are required. My first semester GPA should be around 3.6-3.8; I play on the NYU squash team for the Manhattan League and I perform community service as well. My sister went to Wharton as well. What else can I do to ensure my transfer?

you need one full year of calc, one semester of microecon and one semester of marcoecon. that's about all the requirements.

Although you are talking about busnessis programs, i want to transfer from university of chicago to yale/harvard, so it should be interesting

i'm planning to apply to harvard/yale as a transfer too. it will be interesting indeed. :)

yes it should be. hopefully you will be apply to econ programs, while i will be applying else where, also my 4.0 here should help, just a tad

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could offer any insight on my chances for transferring to Penn.

HS:
3.93 UW GPA
Rank: 15/497
ACT: 31 (better than my SAT score)

Pretty strong highschool EC's, such as 200+ hrs community service in various organizations, President of Spirit Club (like student council). Ran all of the school's assemblies, talking/performing in front of over 2,000 people each time. Also did many other things to promote school spirit etc.

Participation in numerous other clubs such as:
SADD - Students Against Drunk Driving
CCC - Cougars Committed to the Community (community service organization)
National Honors Society
Young Life (religious youth group)

Many academic awards, earned four different scholarships as well, two from KU, two others. One of them is a scholarship on the national level (Walt Disney Company Foundation Scholarship), with only 25 being awarded in the nation.

Have work experience during highschool, starting junior year. Worked on average 10-15 hours a week during school, about 25 hours a week during the summer.

Also worked as teacher's assistant for the summer after sophomore year (chosen by spanish teacher to do this).

College:
Currently at the University of Kansas, in the Honors Program
Expecting a 4.0 GPA for this semester

Strong writing abilities (35 on ACT english), believe I can write strong essays.

Any idea if I really have a shot? I'm currently planning on applying to UMich, UNC, and UVA, but was wondering what you all thought about my chances at Penn.

Thanks!

Ryan

You never know. Lat year I applied to Harbard, Yale, Columbia, Dartmouth and Chicago as a transfer from a top Canadian U. I got into Yale and Chicago only, at Yale now. I had a 4.0, 1539 SAT, had heavily participated in research that got international attention, and had recs from top scientists. Go figure!

Do I have any chance for getting in? I heard the transfer requirements are pretty high

penn takes full 20%+ of transfer applicants, many more than undergrad, so i'd say you have good chances.

Hi, Mrinal
I'm also in NYU seeking transfer to Penn!
