Hey guys,
So I’m a student at UC Merced. It’s a great school, but I’m miserable living in Merced. I want to apply as an Econ transfer student to one of the other UC’s. So here’s my question…
I’ve been looking at UCLA and UC Berkeley. I decided to transfer a bit late, and both those schools have a bunch of prerequisites for the Econ major I haven’t completed. Same thing with UCSC. And since UCM is on a semester system, I have virtually no time left to complete them as well as my general education (accordingly w/UCM’s General Ed requirements). Does this mean I have absolutely zero chances of getting in? Or are those major preparation classes more a suggestion to make an applicant more competitive?
I have a 3.9 GPA and I’m also applying to Cal Poly SLO, UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara for economics and accounting. Hopefully I’ll get in to at least one of them.
Thank you!!!
Side note: Applying to Stanford is a waste of time and ~$175 (give or take) for the application and its components, right?
