<p>Hi, I am transfer and I want to get a single dorm. Which dorm should I apply for and how can I increase my chances? I am a male so Stern hall will not work. Any suggestions? thanks. Do alot of 3rd years ( who started attending as 1st years) continue to live in dorms or do they have other options? What other options do they have? thanks</p>
<p>There are is quite a bit of off campus housing available. I currently live off campus, and if you dont have a scholarship/financial aid, then living off campus (alone) is about the same as the dorms. If you get a room mate, then you can end up saving money. Depending on distance to campus, and the crappiness of the apartment (this is Berkeley, so pretty much everything sucks, but some places suck more than others) a single apartment can cost 13-1500.</p>
