transfer

I'm wondering if i should consider transferring from university of san diego to university of miami. my first year at san diego i didn't like it and couldnt find any kids that i liked to hang out with until the last couple weeks, plus they didnt have they major, since miami has the area i wanna study (double major in media management and art with a minor in marketing) should i go there. what are the job opportunities for someone with a media management major or should i just stay at san diego and major in something broader like marketing?

stay in san diego. there are opportunities in both places but california just seems like the great fit for your goals.

both schools are great but the transfer process is annoying (read: ANNOYING).
It’s one of those “don’t fix what isn’t broken” situations.

Does USD have an individualized program where you can make your own major?
If not, find the closest thing related to media management.

And write.

thanks for the advice belief,
well if i stay at USD i wont get the specific major, but I’d probably just major in marketing and minor in communications
but i also forgot to mention that i’d make $7,000 a year just for being a student at UM while I have to take out a 20,000 loan over the next 4 years

if i stay at SD.

“i’d make $7,000 a year just for being a student at UM while I have to take out a 20,000 loan over the next 4 years”

Are you saying you’ll have to take out $20,000 in loans to stay at SD, but you’d MAKE money at Miami? If so, definitely transfer to UM.

yes, im a gates millennium scholar and they only cover my costs up to my efc.
my efc at San Diego is 5,000 so i have to take out a 20,000 loan but my efc at miami is $0 and im awarded 7,000 in grant money and i figure that I just get to keep the grant money if the scholarship will cover everything.

I say transfer. Miami >>> USD
