I'm attending University of Illinois-Chicago's GPPA pharmacy program right now (freshman) and I have a 4.0 gpa based on frirst sem right now, i really don't think that UIC is the best fit for me and after some discussion with relatives who's own sons and daughter are applying for college soon it seems that they think that i made a big mistake about not going to Univ of Michigan Ann Arbor when i got accepted last year...

I feel a little regret too, but i'm really tempted to transfer to another school with a semi-decent pharm program and I kno ann arbor has a really good one... but I'm not guaranteed to get in... and the hassle of applying to college all over again doesn't seem too pleasant... sigh...

I've lost my train of thought... but i guess what i really want is to kno whether my decision to attend UIC's GPPA pharmacy program was a good one in the long run...

Pharmacy overall is not really my top choice as a career but i don't want my mom to disown me for it ... i'm Asian just incase if you haven't figured it out...

any thoughts...

why do your parents want you to be a pharmacists so bad. They start off with good money, but i dont see all the much room for growth. You can go from pharm, to maybe a general/district director etc etc. Is this school saving you money, what schools are looking into now?

well... they think it's a safe career and i won't NOT find a job when i get out of college..

the only reason for uic is because i'm guaranteed a spot in pharmacy school and i won't have to go throught he hassle of applying to pharm grad school... but i'm havent relaly thought bout other schools... cept maybe for ann arbor... cuz in reality i wanna do art or photography as a minor and i don't kno anything bout michigan's art program or if they have one...

well i really dont know much about pharmacy schools or art, hopefully someone comes around that can help. I dont like when parents force something this substantial on kids though. My girlfriends parents (chinese) have driven into her head since she was little that she should be a physical therapists and nothing else. Do you want to do art/photo just as a hobby on the side? its not really a question to help you find colleges, just interested, i like that stuff, i go take pictures, come back home and paint them with oil paints. Wish i could sell them for a living, but i cant so sad so sad
