Transfer

Alright, so.. UConn, Storrs was my top choice and I was admitted to a branch. I had high hopes of getting the full college experience by living on campus so part of me doesn't want to stay home and commute to the branch. I was also accepted to Eastern Connecticut State University and I was wondering if I could attend there for a year and transfer to Storrs? I'm just wondering if anyone has tried this before

Same exact position as you last year. Wanted UConn Storrs got Branched. I went to another college and I was just accepted to Storrs as a transfer so Ill be going in the fall. It is much easier to get in as a transfer. Everything will work out in the end

Any other questions you can ask me because I just got done with the whole process

If I could give you some advice I think you should go to Eastern if you wanna have the college experience. Also because since Eastern and UConn are both states schools you will have a much easier time transferring credits over. The only thing about going to a branch is that they make you wait at least 2 years before you can go to Storrs. But if you do well your first semester at Eastern and apply to Storrs for the Fall of 2015 you should have a very good chance.

Thank you so much!!! That was super helpful! UConn has been my dream school and Avery Point is a really nice campus, I just don’t see myself staying in the town I’m living in for another whole two years. I’m going to visit Eastern soon and see if I can manage there for a year and try again for Storrs!
Thanks again :)

Go for it dude. I know how you’re feeling right now because I went through it last year and it sucks. But now its all water under the bridge because I got in. Make sure you do really well your first semester because thats what UConn will look at. Wish you the best of luck for next year!

What was your GPA when you applied to be transferred? If you don’t mind me asking  I’ll most definitely go for it! Good luck starting at Storrs this fall!!!

I got a 3.2 at the college I was at. I think anything over a 3.0 for you in good courses should be fine. I just applied undecided because I want to apply to the business school for my junior year. The cutoff to apply to the business school was a 3.3 so i just missed it

Ohhh! Hopefully I can manage that at Eastern haha. I wish you good luck up at UConn and getting into the business school next year! Thanks for all the help!

No problem man good luck at Eastern
