transfer

Does anyone know much about transferring to SCU? I just finished my first semester at the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University with about a 3.7. I was already admitted last spring with a large scholarship, but I took it for granted and convinced myself I would do better at a more rigerous school such as ASU's Honors College. Now i'm trying to apply as a sophomore transfer, but I'm worried because I know the school is getting more credability and more people are applying every year. Does anyone know how it looks for transfers?

Why do you want to transfer? Just curious. The current freshman class is the largest SCU has ever had. I wonder if that will have an impact on transfers for the class of 2010. It was overenrolled by about 130 students...a lot for a small school. Why don't you give the admissions rep for your region a call and talk to him/her. Discuss your reasons for wishing to transfer to SCU and see what they say.

Yeah I heard about that but one good thing is that they shut down transfers for the winter and spring quarters to get the size back to normal for next year's transfers and they said it won't impact the numbers they take. I want to transfer basically because after being at ASU for a semester I realized I shouldn't have based my decision solely on academics because I attended a Jesuit high school and realized I would have a better time both socially and academically at SCU. Plus I've just always been a fan of small colleges, and ASU is obviously the exact opposite of that.

I worry about talking to counselors about chances of getting in because I feel like I'm whining to them and leaving a bad impression and that they've probably heard every story in the book. Plus, my region rep is also the transfer rep, which I thought would be a blessing in disguise, but she seems to busy to ever respond to me and instead someone else writes back to my emails who isn't 100% sure on transfer policies.

yea i'm also thinking about (well knowing that i will be transfering somewhere) to a different college. i'm a freshman now at university of washington and its just to big for me. im looking at smaller colleges and santa clara is one of them. is santa clara the main college you are looking into transfering to or are you considering others? if so which ones?...

i'm basically really looking at santa clara and loyola marymount then i'm going to try USC and Virginia because I got surprisingly good grades and am in the honors college so I thought I would give it a try. Santa Clara had been on the top for a long time but I just visited LMU last weekend with some friends who are freshman there and I had a blast and its a beautiful campus near santa monica. I'm pretty confident i'll get readmited to lmu and scu so we'll see
