Transfer?

How hard is it to transfer to UF? I got accepted into the college and honors program before I went to a different school... I went to their website and it just kept on going about how hard it is to get in without an AA.

I had a 1480 SAT and a 4.4 or so gpa... I have a 3.66 college gpa at the moment... Is it as hard as they make it out to be?

You have a very good shot, but who knows with the recent transfer cutbacks everyone is talking about. It's definitely worth a try. What's wrong with your original school?

yes, you do have a good shot.

I have no idea where all of those talk about not having a good shot if you don't have an AA came from. I know some people who told me that you're not get in without AA. And hey... I applied right after the fall semester was over and just found I got in past Saturday. So that whole thing about AA is bs. If you have 60 credits by the end of your sophmore year, you're set.
And you know, Visirale, I had much lower SAT scores than you but a high college gpa and I got in. Are you appling as a sophmore or as a junior?
Plus, it really really helps if you have a lot of different ECs!

ECs don't really come into play all that much for transfer students (or at least any of the ones I've talked to. Nobody's had many (if any) ECs and they got in just fine).

The big deal about how hard it is to get into UF without an AA comes down to the fact that students coming from a CC with an AA are first preference for transferring. Then it's everyone else. Now that they're doing cutbacks though, it's going to be hard for everybody period.

I should also mention it depends on what program you're transferring into. If you want to get into a limited access major it might be a little more difficult because they want you to take pre-reqs and all that fun stuff.

You should get in just fine :)

Well, I got into the Journalism program and I had to take all of these pre-rec classes for this semester. So... Also I think they give preference to people with 60 credits and AA 'cause that's what it said on the status page. I'm transferring from a university also not from CC...so I don't know...
