Transfer ?

If I didn't get in as a freshman, is there any chance of getting in as a transfer? It's not that I don't think I could be happy at another school, it's just, if a year from now I'm still thinking of Brown, I would like to know if there's still a chance for me.

flipflop...sorry, with all due respect, you're wrong. i'm thinking the brown website is a slightly more reliable source than cc.

What do you guys think. Should I withdraw my financial aid application to improve my chances? You've seen my stats...what do you think?

Haha, well, I didn't see any reason for Thomas to lie...and I don't think he did. RUE applicants have received their decisions, so I guess it was partly true, and there was some kind of misunderstanding...oh well. I'm a little relieved. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if we got our decisions a tad earlier..but..I'm not getting my hopes up. :(

Oh yeah, I wasn't saying anyone was lying, just misinformed. :) One thing you can do is, if you get accepted to another school that requires a decision sooner than you'll recieve Brown's decision, they will expidite your decision. I just got accepted to University of Puget Sound (though I don't really want to go there) so I'm going to ask them to do this.

I have a question for you guys though. UPS isn't paticularly prestigious; it's a small liberal arts school in the northwest. I'm expecting to hear from Oberlin any day now, and I'm, God willing, thinking I'm going to get a positive response. Should I wait to notify the admissions director until after I hear for Oberlin so it sounds like they have a little something more to compete with, since Oberlin is well-known and all?

Definitely ClaySoul.

Just to restate: they are still reading transfer applications. I got this straight from the mouth of an adcom (Eric something) at Brown who said he was taking a break from reading transfer applications to meet us ADOCH people.

Well it turns out I may not get my Oberlin answer for another week or so. So I may just notify him now, and then notifiy him again if i get into Oberlin.

Sound okay, or should I really wait?

Do you think that if I get an earlier decision I have a better chance of being accepted with financial aid instead of being rejected?
