Transfer

Hey, I just wanted to know what type of GPA do you need to transfer in?
I want to be an Finance major in MSB.
Should I apply after Freshman or Sophmore year?

If you're going to transfer you would be best advised to try to do it as soon as possible. Gtown doesn't usually accept credits from other schools as anything other than electives so you'd probably end up starting all over in regards to the academics. I had a friend transfer after her sophomore year and she's had to do summer school every summer with the max amount of classes and is adding a sixth year. (She's MSB).
Check the admissions statistics website for the GPA...you obviously can't be a slacker...but Gtown doesn't really set minimums.

I actually think it all depends on which school you're transferring into. I applied for SNHS for Fall '05 (decisions in a few weeks) and I can honestly say GU is accepting a lot more of my completed credits than any of the other schools I have applied to. I'll pretty much be a 2nd semester sophomore, but, have already completed some of the junior and senior year courses. In those spots, I'll just fill in the theology classes that I am missing.
You need to have a 3.0 to apply, but a 3.5 or greater to be considered to be a "competitive" applicant. When you should apply is greatly impacted by your high school record. If you did well in high school then apply freshman year of college, but if you didn't do so hot, wait till sophomore year so you can improve your GPA standing. The more college credits you have completed at the time of application, the less emphasis high school grades/SAT scores will cast upon your decision.

wow, thanks i think i am going to apply both times.

anyone received a decision on your application for transfer admissions yet? If not, when do you suppose they will start sending them out???

I'm thinking we should start hearing in a month(ish) maybe around the 3rd week of may, maybe a little sooner, but not by much. I know they're still in the process of notifying people about missing application parts sooo, maybe they're a little behind or something?

What school did you apply to noripj?

Just to Georgetown College, I believe.. ehmm, sorry, I applied to eight schools, so I kind of forget what it was called... It was for an undergrad BA in English. How 'bout you? Did you apply for transfer admissions (and if so, where, and for what)?

Yes, I applied as a transfer as well, to the school of nursing and health studies.

What type of GPA do you need to transfer into MSB?

so, anyone receive a decision yet???

Some people have heard, yes..mostly MSB and College...Not many SFS and no NHS

I'll be honest I need to transfer into Gtown. Can somebody please guide me through the process, such as when i should apply, and if applying too many times is bad? I want to go to MSB.

just curious, why do you "need" to transfer to G-Town? If it's personal, don't worry about it... :D

just got accepted to the college as a junior transfer...feel free to ask me any qustions about my stats etc

yeah, what were your stats???

3.41 gpa, good ec's not gonna list everything here but id be glad to answer any specific questions

Whats harder to get transfer into MSB or the college.

I heard that the College is harder to transfer into than MSB, but I'm not sure.

I was accepted to MSB for fall 2005 as a sophomore transfer.
