Transferability of class taken at 4-yr

I have been a student at El Camino College (CCC) from Spring 2011 to Fall 2011. I was also a student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL for Fall 2010.

My question concerns an English Composition and Literature class that I took during my Fall 2010 semester at Embry-Riddle. My counselor and I have agreed that this is the equivalent of English Reading and Composition at El Camino (which is the first class you take to fulfill Area UC-E in the IGETC). Once I turn in my application, how will this class be reviewed for eligibility to fulfill UCLA's English requirement? I was told that courses taken outside of a CCC are not reviewed until after a student sends in intent to enroll at UCLA. If this is so, how will UCLA even consider my admission without knowing whether or not I have satisfied English requirements? Also, will this class be reviewed by UCLA itself, or is my college responsible for ensuring that it meets UC standards?

I am aware that UCLA requires two transferrable English courses prior to transfer. I am simply confused as to how UCLA will determine the transferability of the classes I have taken at Embry-Riddle prior to considering me for admission.

Sorry for the long rant. Slightly stressed... That's all.
