Hey!
I am currently doing my B.tech (undergrad in mechanical engineering) from India (Manipal Institute of Technology) and am in the second year.
I want to Transfer to a university in the US, and continue my studies there from the 3rd year.

First off, is it possible to do so?

If yes, then what is the procedure and requirements?

I am really confused and could use some help!

It is possible, but difficult, especially if you need funding.

For how to do it, I would recommend:

Reading the Transfer Students 101 sticky thread at the top of this forum.

Do a Search on the International Students forum for ‘transfer’.

Look at college websites, they will give all of the specific information you need for that school.

You need to access Education USA to get more information on how to transfer.

International’s and transfers get very little aid, so you need to be aware of that first.

You can definetely transfer and continue study here! most of universities offer international student programs. But keep in mind that your tuition will be much higher than what the residents in US paying for.
