Transfering Questions

Hi, I will be attending SMU for the 2012-2013 year. I am planning on transferring to UT after 1 year. My question is about the AP credits and how they transfer. UT requires that to transfer, one must have completed or is currently completing 30 hours of transferable credit.

I've checked what credits SMU will award me for my AP tests and have checked those with the classes that are considered to be transferable credit. I have found that I can get credit for a total of 9 hours of AP Credit that is also transferable to UT.

Now do these 9 hours count towards the 30 hour requirement or no?

Thanks for the help and if you need more information, just ask me.

I used these websites to find these things out:

SMU: University Registrar - Transfer Equivalency Guides

SMU: University Registrar - Credit by Examination

I will be getting credit that I believe will be transferable for a 5 on English Lng/C or Lit/C, and a 5 on Calculus AB.

Salsatime: Those 9 hrs should count towards the 30 hours of transferable credit for UT. Just make sure all the classes you take are transferable when you attend SMU. I did the Ib and got like 40 hrs…i still waited a semester to apply to UT anyway…good luck
