Hello! I’m wondering what my chances of getting into the University of Michigan for my sophomore year of undergraduate school are. I applied out of high school knowing there was a slim to none chance of getting accepted but it was worth a shot. I also got a 24 on my act, not even close to what U of M would like to see. I struggled with adhd in high school and my grades were very low. They increased every year where by my senior year I had a 3.6 but cumulatively my gpa was still very poor (2.6).
This semester of college (at Oakland University) I finished with a 3.9, much improvement since high school. I wrote very good essays, explained exactly how I could contribute to U of M and what U of M could give me. I explained what id like to major in and why, and I also explained my situation with adhd and how although in hs my grades suffered due to lack of knowledge on how to study and absorb information with adhd, I overcame that and performed much better my senior year of hs and first semester of college. I was also involved in many clubs in high school and college along with founding my own club at my current university and being president of it.
I feel like I have so much to offer this school but I’m so worried about my high school grades seeing that colleges do take them into consideration until you have about 36 credits (sophomore status). I am a freshman and taking 16 credits each semester. I applied after I got my first semester transcript.
