I’m currently at SUNY Albany and I want to transfer after this semester. I’m a freshmen and a human biology major but I want to transfer to a school that offers nursing because I want to be a physical therapist. But just in case I don’t want to do that anymore I have nursing as back. Also, there’s more nursing scholarships out there and I dislike SUNY Albany. The schools I’m looking into accept transfers with a minimum of 12 credits. I’m currently taking 16 . But should I still wait until next fall to transfer? I don’t want to be behind in the nursing prerequisites.
If you’re planning to transfer sooner is always better than later. What’s unclear is whether a mid-year transfer is possible to the colleges that would make sense for you and for which you’re likely to get accepted. Do they require college grades? Do they require college recommendations? Do they accept mid-year? Will they have the courses that you need? Often year long courses are not taught starting every semester. Have you called the colleges and asked? It’s hard to see how we on CC can “figure” out what’s possible and credibly feed it back to you.
Another question - will you qualify for those scholarships as a transfer?
I’m currently taking most of the first year pre requisite courses. So that won’t be an issue. I’ll just have to take the second term of the year long subjects like chemistry & biology. Statistics is a requirement as well & I’m taking that. I’m not taking psychology. But that can be taken any semester.
