Transferring after one year, with 30 credits.

Hi everyone,

I am currently in a community college and I am planning to transfer after one year, with 30 credits. I would like to ask if I transfer as sophomore, do HS grades or college grades matter more?

College grades always matter more, but HS grades and SAT scores will matter as well.

Colleges want to know what type of student you are. The more college credits you have means that the colleges have a greater understanding of your qualifications. If you don't have many college credits, they will use your HS grades and SAT scores in order to get to the point where they know what type of student you are.

thank you very much flyboy

Absolutely wrong!!! When applying to transfer as a soph, you will only have one sem/qt of college work completed and your HS record and test scores will be given more weight. OP and flyboy, please read the sticky thread at the top of this forum: Transfer Admissions 101, it's all there.
