transferring again.. chances?

Hi,

Im a sophomore @ the University of Maryland College Park. This is my first semester here after transferring from Rutgers Univ- NB. I have some really intense reasons for my first transfer (ie room mate suicide) and Im really unhappy here. Im just trying to gauge my chances or if I have ANY reasonable shot @ getting into the University of Michigan AA

Freshman year-- 30 credits, 3.75 GPA
Rutgers University, NB

Summer 8 credits community college... A and a B+

Current schedule- UMD- CP

Biology w/ lab
Chemistry w/ lab
Biology of Extinct Animals
Intro to the Novel
(14 credits)

Decent EC's

Top 10% high school. OK SAT. Good EC's

What kind of chance do I have @ College of Lit and Sci @ UM Ann Arbor???

Your essay will be especially important, I think, because you are transferring twice..You should have a very compelling, well-written personal statement that meaningfully conveys your reasons to transfer. High school and SAT sound ok, I think your college GPA is within range for Michigan transfer, but keep in mind it is much more difficult to transfer in to Michigan out of state, and it will be difficult because you have only been at your current college for less than one semester. I would maybe consider applying to a few other schools while you apply to Michigan, just in case. Good luck!
