How hard is it to transfer out of the CAS into the MSB of SFS. Are we talking 3.3, 3.7 etc?

yes. my friend who goes there tells me its extremely hard. but not impossible. alot of bureaucratic stuff to go through.

It’s actually not hard - especially transferring from COL -> MSB (since MSB is considerably easier). You need to write a one page paper explaining your desire to transfer, and have taken some classes that could apply to the curriculum in the other school (i.e. to transfer to SFS - take econ, or at least take gen ed classes that could apply to both schools). I know 3 people who transferred from MSB to the College, 2 who transferred from the College to the SFS, and 1 who transferred from the SFS to the college (so he could minor). They had GPAs ranging from 3.2-3.8 (higher for SFS transfers), so as far as I know it is not difficult.

Another thing - if you know you want to switch schools after you get into one, if you tell the admissions office by the end of May or maybe early June, you can switch before you become involved with the actual schools.
