i'm planning on transferring to usc from brown this year. the earliest i can get in is fall 2010 because they dont accept spring transfers but i really want to go to a school closer to home now. i've been researching and pepperdine accepts spring transfers so i was planning on applying there(or any other school that accepts spring transfers) so that maybe i can go there for the spring semester and then wait to see if usc accepts me for the fall. is this a dumb idea? please tell me what you think?!

Dumb idea (no offense of course)

It seems like an awful lot of money and a lot of complication to be jumping around schools. I recommend you either stay at Brown and apply for transfer to USC for fall 2010, or if you really are that homesick/need to be close to home, go to a Community College for Spring 2009 and finish up some GEs. It’s cheaper and USC has articulation agreements with some California CCs.

Would that be possible? I’m not sure if semester-to-semester transferring is allowed. Also, I’m sure USC states that they accept transfers who have accumulated at least 30 credit hours at their current institution, so unless you were to take 30 credit hours in one semester at Pepperdine, I don’t think you’d be able to validly apply to USC. Besides, Brown > USC, and I love USC.
