transferring FROM nyu

I'm currently trying to transfer from NYU to Vandy, Northwestern, U Texas at Austin, Emory, etc... schools that range from more selective to very selective. Tell me what you think.

I just finished the semester with a 3.6 GPA which is not bad for college, but I don't know how much they'll weight my hs stuff which went pretty crappy senior year. I had a 3.8 applying everywhere but I think I finished with a 3.7 and my SATS were pretty bad... 1340 or something like that. So... if anyone has some advice for this novel of a predicament I would definitely appreciate it. I don't really feel like listing my EC's haha... but if you feel like they would make a big deal of them, let me know.

But my concerns aren't just academic. Has anyone here actually transferred before?? How hard is it going to be as a sophomore transfer, finding my niche and trying to sorority rush and all that good stuff? I'm still wondering if these little difficulties will be worth it in the end. I don't HATE nyu, but I just feel like I want to go to a college that will give me the experience of... well, college. Right now I feel like I'm just living in the city and occasionally going to class... which I feel like I could do at any point in my life.

Help me out. Anyone's opinion will do.

Thanks so much!

come ON people help me out!

Living in the city and going to class. What a dream...sigh

I go to BU and I am in the EXACT SAME SITUATION.
haha.

I thought I would have loved living in the city, but now I realize I need a more "college experience"

i'm also applying to emory as well....good luck!
