Transferring from UCSD to UCI

How hard is it to transfer from a university to a another university? I am miserable at UCSD (shocking, I know!), but I need to get out of here before it starts to show in my grades!

It’s definitely not as easy as transferring from a CC to a UC

Sorry to hear you’re miserable there - what’s making you so? Please do tell, for all of us prospective UCSD students.

UCI seems pretty lame. Why would you leave SD for Irvine?

For all prospective UCSD students, I’m sure the majority of them will love it here. Everyone that I’ve talked with about how they like it here has told me that they love it. I think it’s just me, which is why I said “Shocking, I know!” earlier. But anyway, I’d rather be happy and be able to focus on my classes rather than be sad and having it affect my grades.

I go to UCI and it is a great school…minutes from the beach…and just an hour away from SD and LA…Irvine itself might not be the most happening place on Earth, but you get great weather and the option of driving a fairly short distance to get to a cooler place. Everyone is really chill and laid back here and the teaching is top notch (Bus. Econ at least)…remind me why I’m trying to transfer again?! LOL…you will like it here…I’m from NorCal and I didn’t want to go to Davis or SD either…those places are secluded and boring imo…If I get in as a change of major into the Merage school of business at UCI’s Business Admin major (Harder to get into than Berkeley’s Haas!!), I might stay here. Oh and it is easier to maintain a high GPA here ;)

Oh and to answer your question…It is harder to transfer as a UC to UC transfer, but I don’t think you should have a problem with UCSD –> UCI…what is your major?..your stats?
