isn't bizecon extremely hard program to get into? How solid was your gpa if it's okay for me to ask

what did you do to strengthen your application?

just get A's man. thats all it comes down to, don't take classes u won't get an A in. and take as many bullsh1t transferable courses as possible that are easy. use professor. i had a 3.85 when i applied. don't get Bs, also.

and hate your classes. seriously HATE them and get A's in every one to show them whos boss.

oh, hah, TAP helps too....

I normally never post but it is definitely possible to transfer in one year. I am still pending for my LA decision but I have a 4.0. By the end of this spring I would have completed 94 transferable units, all pre-reqs, and IGETC.

Spring 07: 21 Units (18 transferable)
Fall 08: 31 Units (27 transferable)
Winter 08: 27 Units (27 transferable)
Spring 08: 26 Units (22 transferable)

I am also an AP Scholar with distinction which means I have 5 AP's which I assume transfer but I overlapped 2 of those courses so I only received 12 units in transfer credit. I was also in the honors program and took all these classes at one school so it is definitely possible.

i actually just got into ucla and am completing my first year at nyu.
i just took two college courses while in high school and passed 8 AP exams. I wasnt allowed to take over 18 units each semester at NYU.
I'm actually really surprised I even got in. i heard its nearly impossible

What if I don't get in the first time? Can I still apply again as a 2nd year transfer or will my application be looked down upon?

This will not be a problem. If you fail you can just try again next year. But taking too many units and screwing up your GPA trying to rush, that would be a very very bad idea indeed. So proceed with caution.

I actually just did that this year. With some AP credits and previous college courses in high school, I completed 61 (semester) units in one year. I had to take a lot of classes though, there was one period where I was at school for 10 hours a day 4 days a week (during a winter intersession, which is a whole semester 6 weeks long, basically like a summer, and I took 10 units). I can't say it was hard, but it did take a lot of my time. My units worked out as follows: Fall - 14, Winter - 10, Spring - 18 (mind you, these are all semester units so multiply by 1.5 to find quarter units) and everything else I had had previously and had AP credits.

Right now I'm still waiting for LA, I got a weird message when I sign in that says they will notify any chances in writing because they can't do it online, so I'm not sure what that means. But I did get in Irvine at least... though not planning to go there. But yeah if you want to do it you can do it np.

is physiological science major super impacted? or do i have a chance coming from uci with gpa 3.7 and work.

congrats lilputty -- why'd u decide to transfer? what major?

This question might be random, but I was wondering that since I have class the whole day, and i have maybe a ten minute break in between, what did you guys eat to keep your adrenaline or brain cells awake and active?

i drink LOTS of water. I carry 2bottles per class, so thats a lot of bottles.

Don't abuse caffeine, it'll bite you finals week if you've grown tolerance

also, text some friends during class. it wakes you up.

Is a 1 year transfer from a UC to another UC with a science major (like Chem) with 3 AP credits a reasonable goal?

@redice -- i dont think so. check assist.org

Is that site even accurate? Cause I know transfers to UCSD aren't limited to only Comp Sci...

huh? yeah that site is the authority. you may be interpreting it wrong. have you spoken to a counselor yet?

hi guys, I have a question about 7 course pattern requirement.
Is it true that one needs to have completed the BOTH English requirements at the time when he or she is applying to uc's or just 1? I'm applying this Fall and I already have my math requirements out of the way, but I've only taken the first English course and plan on taking the second one in the Spring. Someone just told me that I need to be taking the second English course in the Fall when i apply??

sorry I didn't want to create a new thread so i just posted it here.

Thanks to all.

All requirements must be completed by spring 2009 if will be applying for fall 2009. As long as you list the course as planned on your application, enroll in the course in the spring and complete the course with a passing grade you should be fine. One warning, I've seen students who had this plan but, weren't able to register for the English course because it was full or other issues. Therefore, I don't recommend waiting to complete requirements if at all possible.

besides drinking water, what did you eat? snacks from college? because in my opinion cafeteria food or candy will just take a toll on your body.

yeah screw school food -- find local subways and the likes to hit up when u have a few hours to spare.

otherwise go to costco and buy the jars of nuts (cashews, almonds, etc) and keep sandwich bags of them in your backpack/messenger/w.e

college coffee is usually really good.

beef/turkey jerky is amazing but it has a lot of salts, so be sure to back them up with the water.

moreover: ask a LOT of questions in class. even if you know the answer. just look stupid or something, who cares. it keeps you engaged and the fact that you're talking in front of 30-40 some odd people is sure to give u a spark of adrenaline (or at least it does for me, when i'm ready to crash)

thanks, sounds like solid advice
