I'm currently a freshmen in SCA for Film Production and I think I want to switch into the screenwriting program. Is this possible? How do you go about it? And how difficult is it to transfer? Thanks!

Can i ask why you want to transfer or what the film production program has been like for you? Just curious cause that’s where I’m applying this year! Thanks!

You should contact your advisor in SCA to get the details you need. From what I understand, the screenwriting program is on a rigid track and takes 8 sequential semesters. Therefore, not sure if you are able to start in the sequence in Spring semester or even if it’s possible to graduate in 4 years if you switch. Is it possible for you to add a minor in screenwriting so you can stay on track to graduate?

Confirm what madbean said - it takes four full years to do the Screenwriting BFA and I believe you start in the fall. You’re better off minoring in Screenwriting or just taking a bunch of Screenwriting classes, which is what I do - most are only two units!
