transferring into a nursing program

My D is a sophomore in Keene State in NH and majoring in health science. She's been taking many of the courses a nursing student would and she's hoping to transfer into the nursing program at Keene, however transferring in to many nursing programs is very difficult. Does anyone have a similar situation or another nursing program my D should be considering? Any suggestions or recommendation?

There is at least one large BSN nursing program that is specifically designed for 3rd year transfers - at Thomas Jefferson University in Center City Philadelphia. It is part of the Jefferson Health System, which controls multiple hospitals.

You might also look at some other hospital-based programs that now offer BSNs, such as the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, which is part of the Lancaster Hospital (PA.) Health System.

It is true that some competitive nursing direct entry programs do not accept transfers, because most of their students stay all 4 years and fill up the capacity. You might find that some less competitive programs do have space for transfers, if they have a higher rate of students leaving the program.

How far does your D want to travel - stay within New England? Check the websites to see if transfers are accepted for nursing at UNH, UVM, UMaine, UMass - Amherst, Northeastern, Simmons, U Mass-Dartmouth, UMass - Lowell, UConn, Salve, Quinnipiac, Fairfield & Sacred Heart.
