Transferring into Columbia University from a Community College

Hi!
Well I plan to attend Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL. Realistically, what are my chances of transferring into Columbia University or any other big school after 2 years after attending a community college like Santa Fe? My father went to Columbia and Duke. I plan to do the best I can!

Have you talked with the transfer office at Santa Fe College? The advisors can help you plan your schedule to maximize your chances.

Columbia is particularly difficult to transfer into on account of its “Core Curriculum” requirements. That is true even if you were transferring from an elite, four-year college.

I would suspect Columbia takes very, very few community college transfers (if any).

Any of a number of big schools, very good shot. Columbia, not so much. Look to your other FL four year schools.

Santa Fe is a good feeder school for UF. Focus on getting decent grades and transferring into UF
